CHOPED DUSTED CEREALS STRAW IN BALES

QUALITY FIBERS FOR A SECURE DRY-OFF

DRY OFF : A KEY PHASE IN DAIRY COWS PRODUCTION CYCLE.

Dry off period in dairy production is needed to provide the udder a rest period. It is crucial as it allows to fight infections and regenerate tissues in order to start correctly the next lactation. An easy calving of a healthy calf is also an objective sought by the producer. Nutrition of dry cow during this period should prevent disorders linked to milk fever and consequences over-fattening.

The ration should ensures:

  • A maximum level of feed intake which will be maintained at the beginning of the next lactation with a moderate energyconcentration,
  • The lowest or even negative level of DCAD, monitored by a low level of potassium
  • A reduction of calcium intake.

STROFIBRE LIGHT : THE SOLUTION

At the beginning of dry-off (« Early dry » for the 5 first weeks) feed intake capacity must be maintained with a « bulky » ration lowly concentrated while preserving ingredients of lactating ration to maintain ruminal papillae activity.

STROFIBRE LIGHT ensures the best compromise between low level of energy and low potassium and calcium contents.

AN UNIQUE PROCESS FOR UNIQUE FIBERS

The latest scientific works (Havekes et al. 2019 *) show the interest of short fibers straw consumption ensuring a higher intake level ( more than 1kgDM at the end of the calving preparation phase « Close-up dry ») for a better metabolic health of the cow at the beginning of lactation.

  • Our controlled chopping process ensures a standard strand length of 2 to 4 cm.
  • Our unique dusting process ensures a controlled and stable level of ashes and minerals contained in STROFIBRE LIGHT,as well as comfort during distribution.
