A sustainable source of fiber to reduce aggressiveness in poultry farming.

Luzapeak : Destructured alfalfa in 20kg bales

A product adapted to the welfare of laying hens

To respond to the societal demand for the welfare of farmed animals, to the evolution of the European regulations on the stopping of pruning and to the development of alternative methods of breeding, Désialis accompanies poultry farming by proposing ingestible solutions of enrichment of the environment based on alfalfa.

The use of alfalfa as a preventive measure to limit the occurrence of pecking problems:

• Contributes to the enrichment of the environment from the pullet stage
• Provides extra fibers to the hen diet

A product adapted to the needs of breeders :

• High temperature heat treatment at the time of dehydration eliminating any germs present,
• Salmonella quality control on batches at manufacturing,
• Individual bale packaging protects the product from further contamination,
• Very high-density pressing ensures durability

An evolution towards greater efficiency

Thanks to a specific treatment of destructuration of the alfalfa fibers, the pressing of the bales under very high density is improved to increase the cohesion and the durability of the bales in time.

The duration of use of the bales in breeding is more than doubled. The destructuring of the fibers makes them go from a size of 3/5 cm to a finer size of less than 1 cm.

This reduction in size leads to a better digestive efficiency which translates into :
- A better zootechnical efficiency.
- A significant difference in egg production +3.3 eggs per 100 hens
